Sage ("the App") is a personal reading tracker and recommendation service operated by Marinly ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms & Conditions in full.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email at the address associated with your account. Your continued use of the App after receiving notice of changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you may delete your account at any time (see Section 7).
To use Sage, you must create an account using a supported sign-in method (Google or Apple). You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account credentials secure. You must be at least 13 years old to use Sage. If we discover an account belongs to someone under 13, we will delete it.
You retain ownership of the reading data, ratings, and notes you add to Sage. We collect data necessary to provide and improve the service, including your reading history, device information, and usage patterns. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. By using the App you grant us a limited licence to store and process your data to deliver the service.
We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your login session and remember your preferences. Essential cookies are required for the App to function and cannot be disabled. You may manage optional analytics cookies through your browser or device settings, but doing so may affect functionality.
We send two types of email:
Required — cannot be opted out
Optional — you can opt out
Opt out via Settings → Notifications, or via the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account.
Deletion is permanent and irreversible.
Upon deletion we will permanently erase all of your data — including your reading history, ratings, notes, and profile. We cannot recover this data once it has been deleted.
You agree not to misuse the App, attempt to gain unauthorised access to any systems, use the App for any unlawful purpose, or interfere with other users' access to the service.
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be available at all times, error-free, or that recommendations will meet your expectations. We are not responsible for the accuracy of book data sourced from third-party providers.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Marinly shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Marinly is a California limited liability company.
Our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By agreeing to these Terms you also agree to our Privacy Policy.
